Welcome to the first issue of our Newsletter for the 2026–2027 program year! We are Vicki Light and Jen Saba, and we are honored to step into our new roles as Co-Presidents of the New York Zero to Three Network Board of Directors.

Before looking ahead, we want to take a moment to look back. This past program year was a meaningful one for NYZTT. We hosted four workshops covering topics on screen time and development, policy and family support, the “confluence” of being a clinician and a parent, and how to make every contact with babies and caregivers count. Our Annual Conference brought together leading voices in the field to explore how we can better support young children, caregivers, and the early childhood workforce. And, at our well-attended pre-conference networking breakfast, we shared coffee with old friends and welcomed new ones.

We are also thrilled to welcome several new members to our Board: Annlady Jorge, Debra Davis, Cynthia Restrepo, Ellie Becker, Jillian Vanderneut, Paige Bellenbaum, and Teff Nichols. Their range of backgrounds and expertise will deepen our ability to collaborate with the early childhood community.

As we look to the year ahead, Vicki and I will be leading the Board in a reflective review of where NYZTT stands and where we are headed. NYZTT has spent over 36 years building a home for early childhood professionals to learn from and support one another. Our goal this year is to make sure that home stays strong, sustainable, and connected to the practitioners who need it most.

We want to extend a warm thank you to our Board members and our Network for showing up, sharing expertise, and doing the hard work of strengthening the field. We're looking forward to a productive year of working and building community together.

Warmly,
Jen and Vicki
